But a worthwhile cause!

Lykke Li has been on my radar for a while now. Since I read about her on a Swedish music blog maybe 11/2 years ago, I knew that she was going to be rolling out hits in no time. I myspaced her of course and thought nothing of her until a year later, her name was mentioned all over the blogosphere. More sleuthing ensued and soon I came across this video:




This is a pretty awesome music video. It's pretty low-budget; I can only imagine how many of these back up dancers actually got paid. All you've got is an unfurnished living room and well, the sun, or as my friend Nina calls it, "nature's disco ball". But Lykke sure knows how to shoulder-dance (shout out to Vanessa). But that's what good editing is all about-

asian Maxwell

Back in the States. Refreshing, yes, but it was definitely a bittersweet homecoming. I truly miss Taiwan this time. I've been there a million times now but this trip was certainly the most memorable. The presidential election fervor has inspired me to involve myself more deeply in the upcoming November situation. But before all the pictures get put up, here's a little sumpin sumpin I picked up while I was there: 方大同, or who I refer to as the Asian Maxwell. If you ignore the obvious differences like skin color, hair style, uhh..like everything, you can kind of hear where Asian Maxwell gets his inspiration. Take a look:

I just got back from the Northwest. Beautiful, beautiful weekend, from complex sceneries to just falling in love all over again, that's also complex, no? But besides all that, I finally hit the slopes after a 3-year hiatus. And of course, after thinking I was ill, I eat it, hard. So now, while recovering, I'm you-tubeing favorite videos of all time.

On our drive back to Seattle, we hear this on the only station not stuck in 2006. Paul impressively recited all the lyrics, perfectly.



What's not to love- overalls, synchronized dancing, cheezy backdrops, flat tops, and the sideways caps....Oh, a little shout out by the eponymous Tone Loc...
